bunch of old 1990s Steven Seagal movies just popped up on Tubi. Including the weird Glimmer Man movie

This month, Tubi will keep me busy with alot of the actual classic Seagal movies like Out for Justice and Marked for Death and Hard to Kill.

Seen a couple of movies this week.

You Only Live Twice - Meh. At this point it's just more of the same. Loved the Japanese setting though.

Saw - Also meh. The highlight of the movie was actually hearing the famous quote "I want to play a game".

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Another phenomenal movie. I was constantly amazed by every action scene. John Wick rules.

Angry woman dishes out unholy justice. My kind of content. If you like John Wick, you'll like this.

of all the old 1990s Steven Seagal movies, Tubi, Freevee even Hulu dont have Marked for Death while Vudu has Marked for Death to rent.

Damn lol

wonder if Youtube free movies has Marked for Death or not

@Ennui Thanks, will definitely check that out. Interestingly, the upcoming John Wick spin-off featuring Ana DeArmas is also called Ballerina, so for a moment there I thought it might have shadow-dropped already . (It's still on track for 2024, as far as I can tell)

Checked out the bonus features on my US-import 4K Collector's Edition of The Mist this weekend. The blu-rays holding the bonus features were region free, so if you're interested in these sort of things in addition to the movie, it's a safe import.
While the features were mostly the usual BTS stuff we're accustomed to, there was a lovely little featurette on the slightly eccentric but fantastically talented poster artist Drew Struzan. That little thing really elevated the bonus features for me. The man is a treasure

finally got around to watching the Hellraiser reboot on Hulu. Not bad for a movie but the cenobites were all pale instead of the usual black leather. and the whole thing about the sister letting go of her brother not to have him brought back, the plot of the movie felt more like a Wishmaster movie or something

Watched Ballerina last night, and I enjoyed it. Especially the sequence in the drug lab and huge props for including what must be the best pair of arms dealers in cinematic history!

I concur with @Ennui's words:

Just started watching Foxy Brown. Plenty of action so far. Great stuff!

@FuriousMachine @Ennui How does Ballerina compare to Atomic Blonde, if you have seen it. That is probably my favourite John Wick-like (I immediately hate myself for saying that lol) with female lead? I loved the eighties setting of Atomic Blonde, and how grimy it felt in places.

So a live action Zelda movie has just been announced, and it's being distributed by Sony Pictures.

Personally would have preferred a Studio Ghibli style animation, but hey what do I know.

@JohnnyShoulder I couldn't really say, to be honest. I remember absolutely nothing from Atomic Blonde other than there was a fight in a stairwell. I know I saw it, though, and I remember that I came away somewhat disappointed, but that may have been down to wrong expectations going in. I'm considering giving at re-watch to give it a fair shake

@FuriousMachine That's quite OK mate, we are well in our own rights not like the same things. It would be a boring place if we did!

@JohnnyShoulder I'd say Atomic Blonde had a more focused story. More twists and turns. But the violent action sequences bear a resemblance.

Ennui

@Ennui Ah cool, that is good to know, thanks. I will keep an eye out for Ballerina, as I've not heard about it until now.

Just watched "Do The Right Thing" for the first time in over 20 years. Still incredible - equal parts funny and poignant, prescient and difficult to watch.

Not a movie but related. My partner and I went to a candlelight concert this evening which was all Hans Zimmer pieces from a variety of films including Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more. Absolutely fantastic, highly recommended!

@Ennui That's epic! I love getting to see movie soundtracks live, but haven't had the opportunity nearly as much as I'd like. Hans Zimmer's stuff really packs a punch, too. Glad you enjoyed it!
