Oh damn, Rog is back so I better follow through on my threat of actually posting some screenshots.

Do I really command that much fear? Sorry about that!

Brilliant shots, though. Particularly like the framing of the second one. Very effective, and superb colours, too. Such a beautiful game.

Looking forward to seeing more!

@RogerRoger /ha, it was just seeing your name gave me the kick up the bum to actually post some of the shots, especially seeing as I've had the window with them open for ages now. Good to see you re-emerging though and thanks for your kind words as always.

And here's batch number two. A bit more variation this time;

@Thrillho Thanks, and not at all; wouldn't praise 'em if they weren't praiseworthy.

Speaking of which, that's a stunning second batch. I particularly like Wistful Beach Aloy suddenly juxtaposed with Panic Attack Aloy (these sound like 90s action figure variants, so I'll stop) and love the extreme depth-of-field applied to Aloy w/ Laughing Bow Feature (okay, now I'll stop, promise).

Apologies for the overload, but I'm keen to clear the decks ahead of Spidey.

@RogerRoger Well, that last Aloy shot is supposed to be a grimace rather than laughing which maybe makes for a better named action figure? I like the second shot though from that lot but think the third of the set below is my favourite of them all (which includes a rare Thrillho action shot!)

A really good photo mode with the game though and I do like ones that let you mess with poses and facial expressions to really try and enhance what you're doing.

I'm currently playing Jedi Survivor so am sure I'll have some good ones from that by the time I'm finished!

And, as always, some cool shots from you. The Bat Girl retro shot is great as is the effect on the one above it. Some nice work with the very limited photo mode of Mass Effect too, even if a custom Shep is heresy as far as I'm concerned..

Some sharp Sonic ones with rail grinding or the final one being my picks; the latter being one that could have looked cool with a letterbox effect but those always seem to look a bit rubbish when you post them vs seeing them full screen on your own console.

And, particularly after some teases that have come out today, it will be fun to see what people do with Spidey's photo mode as Insomniac always embrace the mode with Miles Morales and Ratchet & Clank being fun games to mess around with for that.

@Thrillho Love that action shot up there but yes, would have to ultimately agree with you about the third in the above batch; that is a ludicrously beautiful and brilliant screencap! Perfect eye!

Thanks for the praise regarding my own contributions (although I apologise for offending you with my customised commander)! Oh yeah, what I wouldn't give for some basic frames in Sonic Frontiers. It's less of a photo mode and more of a screencap tool the developers just re-activated for a laugh. You get a half-dozen filters, can tilt the frame, and that's it. No depth of field, no time of day tweaking, no posing, and the camera object itself is prohibitively large, so it collides with everything. That being said, there was something charming and stress-free about its simplicity. Not like Spidey. Not like Spidey at all.

Really looking forward to what you manage to capture from Jedi: Survivor. Its photo mode was a lil' broken at launch, so I held off and saved starting a NG+ run for when all the updates have been released (which I think they have, so it's just a matter of scheduling now). It's lacking in some ways, but one of the best in others, so I reckon you'll get some great shots!

@Bentleyma Wow, that actually looks stunning! Great environmental detail, and a vibe that suits the source material to a tee. Very impressive, thanks for sharing!

@Thrillho Amazing shots! You'd think I would've attempted something similar to your first, given how many neon billboards Cal wall-runs across on Coruscant, but I never did. Love how dynamic that looks! Gorgeous detail captures as well, with the rocks and then Beedee. The depth of field slider was utterly broken at launch; I'm glad to see it's working properly now, and that you've been able to take full advantage of it! Also, what did that poor NPC do to deserve such a dramatic fate...?!

As an aside, how're you gonna share and manage your screencaps, now that PlayStation has shown Twitter the door? When I saw that headline earlier, you were my first thought.

@RogerRoger The depth of field was fine. A blue wall pops up to show the point of focus which is quite handy but it sometimes feels like quite big jumps when you're trying to do something closeup so it can be difficult to match the depth and aperture exactly to a shot.

And yeah, those billboards were just crying out for a shot like that and it's one of the few times I've ever used a frame to complement a shot too. As for that guy, just in the wrong place at the wrong time

For sharing shots in the future, I guess I'll have to do the convoluted thing of sharing them to twitter from the App but that only saves shots for 14 days I think? I've got the rest of my Survivor shots up already so I can share some more...

Strong Sephiroth vibes in the second one. I quite liked the fifth one, even if it's not particularly obvious what it is (or perhaps I like it for that reason).

@Thrillho Ah, the big jumps in the depth of field's blue wall is what was broken before. Fallen Order gave you incredibly fine control over its settings. I'll have to play around with it and see what's what, but it's a real shame they didn't just copy and paste the previous Photo Mode, because it worked great.

According to Google, yeah, it's fourteen days. Which sucks, but it's better than nothing, I suppose. You might wanna get into the habit of keeping your favourite captures on your console, and then doing the ol' USB shuffle every once in a while, to transfer them to a more permanent home. That's if manually uploading them to Twitter becomes too much of a headache (or heck, if Twitter itself implodes, which it feels like it might do any day now). Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Superb second batch from Survivor, by the way! Love that headless MagnaGuard; very brutal, but also very atmospheric! We also took similar snaps in similar places, as I've got variants of your second, third and fifth shots in my collection! But yeah, what / where is that fourth one...?!

@RogerRoger I forget exactly where the fourth shot was taken but it was a big tunnel you had to jump down so in the bottom left you can see Cal doing his thing sliding down the wall with his lightsaber and the trail it leaves. Just heavily filtered to make something a bit different.

I just didn't expect the decapitation and continued fight from the Magna-guard! And the area in the final shot of that batch was a great area with a really solid fight... and the legendary Rick the Door Technician too of course
